Cruise ships typically anchor off Villefranche-sur-Mer, a picturesque harbor village about 6 km east of Nice, with tenders ferrying passengers ashore. From Villefranche, local buses and trains provide easy access to Nice's celebrated Promenade des Anglais, the colorful Cours Saleya flower and food market, and the hilltop Colline du Château with its sea views.
