The park is visited exclusively by ship — there is no port or shoreside infrastructure — and rangers typically board vessels at Bartlett Cove to narrate the journey past glaciers such as the Margerie and Grand Pacific. The bay is a critical habitat for humpback whales, harbor seals, and mountain goats.
